Pollock vs Michelangelo

Jackson Pollock The Water Bull, 1946 olio su tela, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam

Jackson Pollock. The Water Bull, 1946. olio su tela, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam

Cosa hanno in comune Jackson Pollock e Michelangelo Buonarroti? Nulla apparentemente o forse tutto, ovvero l’impeto passionale nel fare arte. “Jackson Pollock.

What they have in common Jackson Pollock and Michelangelo Buonarroti? Nothing apparently, or perhaps all, or the heat of passion in art-making. Jackson Pollock. Figure of fury” is an exhibition curious, because it compares two great art that have nothing in common but a way of approaching their art in a physical way. For the first time Florence pays tribute to Jackson Pollock (1912 -1956), one of the leading figures of the twentieth century art world, who has undermined the rules of western figurative dissolving the last bastions of Renaissance perspective, and it does American ideally combining the work of the craftsman to that of another titan of universal art, Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) of which this year is celebrating the 450th anniversary of his death. The criticism has already divided on this show, calling it a marketing or an innovative exhibition. What do you think? – (English translation powered by Google).  Continua a leggere
