THE UFFIZI GALLERY: HOW TO BOOK YOUR TICKET AND SKIP THE LINE

No trip to Florence is complete without visiting the Uffizi Gallery, which offers the most complete overview on the Renaissance and a spectacular view on the Arno River.
Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli are some of the famous artists you can admire there with their masterpieces. Of course, you can’t see everything with only one visit, but there are some works you can’t miss at the Uffizi Gallery.

In this post I’ll explain how to book your ticket and how to skip the line at the Uffizi Gallery.

VISITING THE UFFIZI GALLERY

The line to enter to the Uffizi Gallery is always endless and can often take up to 2 hours, unless you book your admission ticket. But if you want to try your luck, you can arrive at the Uffizi Gallery and buy your ticket at the ticket office.

The full entrance ticket is € 8; the reduced ticket is € 4 (for European Union citizens aged between 18 and 25). Free admission for children under 12 years of age and for special free entry reserved to different visitors visit the Uffizi Gallery official website. You’ll find the link at the end of the post. Every first Sunday of the month the museum follows normal opening hours and the entry is free for everyone.

Opening times: from Tuesday to Sunday 8.15 am – 6.50 pm (closed on Mondays, January 1st, May 1st, and December 25th).

THE UFFIZI GALLERY: HOW TO BOOK YOUR TICKET AND SKIP THE LINE

You should always book your ticket to the Uffizi Gallery.
There’s a reservation fee but in my opinion it’s a small price to pay for enjoying your visit to the museum.

There are 2 ways to book your ticket:

1- online, with the Uffizi Gallery priority entrance

2- single ticket for Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti and Boboli gardens

There is a combined ticket, valid for 3 consecutive days, offering priority admission (once only and not on the first Sunday of each month with free admission) to all the monumental complexes of the Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens.
When purchasing the ticket, it is however mandatory to choose the day and the hour you wish to enter the Uffizi, which is compulsorily the first museum to visit where you are thus expected to activate your combo ticket.
To purchase combined tickets online, visit the webpage dedicated to the Uffizi tickets.

THE UFFIZI GALLERY: HOW TO GET THERE

The Uffizi Gallery is located in the heart of Florence, few steps away from the Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, so is very easy to get there.
If you arrive in Florence by plane, by train or by bus the point of arrival is always the square of the central Santa Maria Novella railway station. From here you can easily reach the Uffizi Gallery on foot in about 10 minutes.
