Zhong Biao è uno degli artisti cinesi più interessanti e visivamente il più fantasioso che conosca.
“The Universe of Unreality: Zhong Biao’s Visions”, in mostra a Venezia fino al 27 Ottobre, mette in discussione le realtà attraverso una visione critica dei rapidi cambiamenti che avvengono nella Cina contemporanea.

La visione artistica di Zhong Biao, esposta nella sua prima mostra personale alla Biennale d’arte di Venezia. Il vestibolo della Chiesa di Santa Maria della Visitazione è tappezzato sui due lati da giganteschi disegni, in cui sono incorporate 33 cornici vuote.
Vedere questa mostra è un’esperienza incredibile. Le opere sono sospese e galleggiano nell’aria. Si possono guardare da molte angolazioni in un fluire continuo di immagini.
Una profonda spiritualità si riflette in tutte le opere e dialoga con la Chiesa di Santa Maria della Visitazione e le opere e i dipinti della stessa, come se ci fosse uno scambio tra mondi e culture diverse e una sorta di contaminazione. Mi sono sentita avvolta dalle opere. Dalle gigantesche cornici vuote di “Revelations”, che rappresentano le possibilità e le scelte future dell’individuo, alle oltre 60 tele dell’autore che piovono dalla cupola, fino al video proiettato sul soffitto e ai dipinti della serie “Light Years”, realizzati grazie all’uso combinato dei telescopi moderni e dell’immaginazione dell’artista.
Restano ancora pochi giorni per vederla. Non perdetevela!
The artistic vision of Zhong Biao, on display at his first solo exhibition at the Venice Art Biennale. The entry hall of the church of the Chiesa Santa Maria Della Visitazione is lined on both sides with giant sketches and 33 empty frames are embedded into the sketches.
See this exhibition is an incredible experience. The works are suspended and floating in the air. You can watch from many angles in a continuous flow of images.
A deep spirituality is reflected in all the works and interacts with the Church of St. Mary of the Visitation and the works and paintings of the same, as if there was an exchange between different worlds and cultures and a kind of contamination. I felt surrounded by works. From the gigantic empty frames of “Revelations,” which represent the possibilities and future choices of the individual, the more than 60 paintings of the author raining down from the dome, to the video projected on the ceiling and the paintings in the series “Light Years”, made by the combined use of modern telescopes and imagination of the artist.
