If there is one artist who knows how to shake the viewer of his works, it is Vittorio Valiante.
His visual language is made of raw material and painted flesh, of urban fragments transformed into metaphors of human existence. His new artistic research focuses on the body as a primary experience, as a bridge between reality and perception.
However, do not expect an idealisation of physicality. Here, the flesh is not a hymn to beauty, but a symbol of fragility, consumption and decay.
THE ART OF VITTORIO VALIANTE
In his latest works, Valiante transforms discarded objects into pieces of a symbolic banquet.
Old furniture, building remains and abandoned materials become metaphorical flesh, a brutal representation of our society burdened by excess and decay.
The paradox of progress becomes painting: a world that relentlessly builds and destroys, leaving human beings in pieces, like meat for the slaughter.
Valiante’s style is distinguished by a powerful use of pictorial matter.
You can also see this in the works posted on his Instagram profile. The colours are dense, the brushstrokes uneven, the contrasts textural, and they put the roughness of industrial paint in tension with the delicacy of the oil technique.
The result? Works that strike like a punch to the stomach and force the viewer to reflect on what we have become.
Who is Vittorio Valiante
Born in Naples in 1991, Vittorio Valiante is a painter, muralist and street artist who has turned the contradictions of his city into a powerful expressive tool.
After studying at the Liceo Artistico Suor Orsola Benincasa and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples, he started a career in 2012 that has seen him collaborate with public bodies, cultural associations and art institutions.
His works have left their mark on many Italian cities, with murals and installations that narrate the fragility of the human being through strong and provocative images.
Among his most important collaborations are those with INWARD (national observatory on urban creativity), the public transport company EAV and FOQUS (Fondazione Quartieri Spagnoli). In 2023, he was among the finalists of the prestigious Luxembourg Art Prize, confirming his growing relevance on the contemporary art scene.
Where to see his works: ‘Le Banquet’ exhibition in Milan
If you would like to immerse yourself in the raw and fascinating world of Vittorio Valiante, mark these dates: from 20 February to 29 March 2025, at the A.MORE gallery in Milan, ‘Le Banquet’, his first solo exhibition in the city, curated by Domenico de Chirico, will be staged.
In this exhibition, the artist transforms the gallery into a visual and conceptual banquet, where the visitor is confronted with his condition of consumer and consumed.
The banquet, symbol of abundance and freedom, here becomes the image of contemporary voracity, of the need to reflect on our society increasingly crushed by excess and indifference.
Prepare yourself for an intense artistic experience, capable of shaking you up and making you reflect. Valiante does not just create works, but stages a piece of raw reality, stripped of any reassuring filter.
Are you ready to sit down to this banquet?
