THE TULIP TABLE: A DESIGN ICON

Making a dining tables with only one leg was a brilliant idea that came into Eero Saarinen’s mind.
An icon was born!

Tulip is one of the most famous icons of the category of dining tables.
A table born in 1957, but which still today is able to make you think of a house of the future. After all, this is the feature of the icons, of the masterpieces: to have the ability to go through ages and trends, staying always the same as itself, and being capable of interacting with other styles and materials.
Then, a family made up of chairs and accessories have flourished around this dining table.

The “Tulip family” is included in the permanent collection at MoMA of New York.
But pay attention to the imitations: the real Tulip is produced by Knoll, others are pale imitations.
