• CARAVAGGIO E I GENOVESI: COMMITTENTI COLLEZIONISTI, PITTORI In the early decades of the seventeenth century Genoa experienced a magical moment: the economic and financial power of the most important families made the city and its port a central place in the commerce of Europe at the time. Local and foreign artists are those who still allow us to understand that period. Caravaggio and his followers constitute an important chapter in the history of Genoese art, which at this moment can be called European to all effects.

GIORGIO DE CHIRICO, IL VOLTO DELLA METAFISICA Palazzo Ducale

• GIORGIO DE CHIRICO, IL VOLTO DELLA METAFISICA The exhibition proposes a critical revision of the artist’s complex activity, exactly one hundred years after the Master’s decision in 1919 to take a different direction from Metaphysical painting (1910-1918), in favor of styles and techniques inspired by Classicism and great masters of the past.

ROLLI DAYS Historic city center

• ROLLI DAYS This is not an exhibition but an event that is repeated twice a year. During the Rolli Days the doors of the extraordinary palaces of the Genoese aristocracy open, which since 2006 have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For a weekend it is possible to visit for free many of the buildings that Rubens called “an example of beauty and magnificence for all of Europe”, their splendid frescoed decorations, their extraordinary architecture, the art collections.
