THE BAGATTI VALSECCHI MUSEUM IN MILAN

The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan. Autumn is a very intense time of year. Several exhibitions open, and this month the schedule of events is particularly rich. It’s not easy to decide what previews to attend and what exhibitions to visit without hurrying at a later time.

There’s an event, happened early this autumn, which I fondly remember, because you and I met in order to visit the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan.
This post is dedicated to that Friday afternoon when I met a lot of you who follow me every day on my social pages.

Whenever I go to Milan I’m always in a hurry. I usually run to an inauguration, I always arrange a business appointment, I have a quick lunch and, eventually, I return home, to the Veneto region.
But on September 9th 2016 I fully enjoyed Milan, I savoured a special day when I looked you in the eye, I shook hands with you, and I visited together with you a marvellous museum.

I told you the story of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum some time ago in a post where I explained you how I fell in love with this place.
But visiting the rooms belonged to the Bagatti Valsecchi brothers, Giuseppe and Fausto, together with you is completely different.
We nosed around the Cabinet featuring old photographs and original clothes, we entered the Library, we admired at a short distance the Polittico Marinoni (the Polypthych of St. John the Baptist by Giovanni Marinoni) before its return to its original place, and we admired the late 19th-century technologies wanted by the barons, although their project aimed to build a Renaissance palace at the dawn of the 20th century.

I organize these events with you my readers at least twice a year, and they are a great emotional investment for me.
I believe that social media and blogs can create new opportunity for interaction, but meeting with you face to face is always the most important part of my job, and every time I can give meaning to everything I write and see.
I want to thank all the readers who took part in the event, and also who would have come, but couldn’t manage. We’ll meet next time.

You can read all the upcoming events on the section Events.
