Contemporary art: exhibitions not to be missed in NOVEMBER 2025

29/10/2025
Author: Caterina Stringhetta

November is the perfect month to visit an art gallery: outside, the days are shorter, but inside, ideas come to life.

This month, contemporary art speaks with the voice of words (Isgrò), with that of nameless faces (Öğüt), with the lightness of paper (Manzo), with the breath of the mountains (Scolari) and with the impossible dialogue between two giants, Kounellis and Warhol.

Five exhibitions, five cities, five ways to remind us that art is not just something to look at: it is something to walk through, listen to and experience.

If you are looking for inspiration for your next art weekend, here are the five exhibitions in November 2025 that are not to be missed in Italy.

Contemporary art: exhibitions to see in NOVEMBER 2025

#NOVEBRE2025

Here are five exhibitions opening in October in five contemporary art galleries in Italy.

This is not a ranking of the best exhibitions!

These are five current proposals that offer different food for thought, together with an overview of contemporary research.

– the trait d’union between words and images

– an invitation to encounter art and artists in person and offline

– paper as a substance that absorbs signs and stories

– focus on archetypes and the architecture of mountains

Keep in art,

It is therefore the “word”, far from being dead, that acts as the trait d’union between the two parallel tracks.
It is the word that, when erased, becomes (especially when it remains evident) a metaphor for the essential, and it is always the word, a multitude of words, that composes his numerous writings.

This exhibition attempts to focus on the point where the word ends and the image begins.
On the one hand, therefore, theatre texts, poetry collections and novels are exhibited, and on the other, visual works with literary subjects or linked to writing (from the press release).

opening Wednesday 5 November 2025
until 14 February 2026

Ahmet Öğüt
neither artificial nor intelligent

The exhibition presents an unprecedented selection of ten oil portraits, part of a larger series of fifty works created over the last three years, which can only be viewed at the gallery. Images of the works will only be published online once they are no longer owned by the artist. Until then, the exhibition offers an entirely live, authentic experience, free from any digital mediation.

The 70x70cm canvases depict fictional and real artists, each with different practices and backgrounds that are not revealed to the viewer. What prejudices influence our reading of an image? Why do we associate a particular face with a specific place or media? Neither artificial nor intelligent invites a personal, offline encounter with the artists portrayed, figures who often do not receive institutional recognition due to a Western classification system that also characterises artificial intelligence filters and algorithms. opening Thursday 6 November 2025, 6 p.m.
until 8 February 2026

Invisibili Trame

Paper is the absolute protagonist of the exhibition, folded, cut, glued, superimposed: not just a support, but a substance that absorbs signs and stories. Together with it, other materials – wood, glass, iron – become part of the work, which often expands beyond the frame, becoming a polyptych, a display case, an installation.

In his most recent works, Manzo emphasises lightness and suspension, favouring muted colours, rarefied atmospheres, voids and cuts that open up the space towards the invisible “inside” of the work. (from the press release).

Opening Saturday 8 November, 6 p.m.
Until 14 February 2026

After thirty-three years, the artist returns to exhibit in the gallery spaces with Solca Mari Mossi, an exhibition that selects many unpublished works, mainly oils, watercolours and engravings – produced between the 1970s and 2020, which explore not only the theme of archetypes but also that of mountain architecture.

Painter, sculptor, designer and historian, Massimo Scolari is an artist in the Renaissance sense of the term, who has made the study of figurative archetypes his life’s work. (from the press release)
