Contemporary art: exhibitions not to be missed in SEPTEMBER 2025
September is the month of new beginnings—people return to the city, life gets back to normal, and art lovers start visiting galleries again. Are the holidays over? Perhaps. But the surprises aren’t.
If you too need beauty (and a touch of provocation) to face the fall, these 5 contemporary art exhibitions are for you. I’m not referring to blockbuster exhibitions or big names on the cover, but to visual and conceptual experiences that make us reflect on our time, our bodies, our memories, and our identities.
From sculpture that defies all balance to abstract painting born from data and emotions; from photography that dialogues with matter to posthuman visions that question the self and the collective.
In short: 5 galleries, 5 cities, 5 perspectives on the present.

Spazi, soglie, luci
curated by Francesco Tedeschi
Over the years, Ljubodrag Andric has developed a precise photographic investigation that focuses on place, in which photography is not limited to representation but becomes a vehicle for images that border on abstraction. His works detach themselves from their original subject, creating a balance between sign and archetype, where the processing and post-production phase is essential to creating a dialogue between photography, painting, and sculpture. Through architecture, his favorite subject, Andric also explores musical rhythms and inner perceptions, blending structural rigor and organic vitality. (from the press release)

FLAMING WINGS
Claire Lindner’s evocative ceramic creations take the observer by surprise, blurring the lines between organic and synthetic, animal and vegetable, science and fiction. João Vilhena
Predizione Perdizione
text by Tristan Trémeau
Playing with words, images, and techniques, Vilhena explores historical memory and contemporary concerns in a dialogue between past and present. Through newly created works, the artist invites us to look beyond the surface, to discover hidden layers and reflect on the human condition: between ruins and vital impulses, a story that repeats itself. Ivana Bašić
Fantasy vanishes in flesh
In Fantasy vanishes in flesh, Ivana Bašić explores the material and metaphysical limits of humanity. Marked by her experiences of war, violence, and brutality during her childhood, due to the collapse of her native Yugoslavia, the artist adopts a post-humanist perspective to explore the ways in which pressure and destruction transform not only the body, but also subjectivity—both individual and collective.
Bašić’s work contemplates the disintegration of the body and the material realm. In Fantasy vanishes in flesh, this process of dissolution is not imagined as a loss, but as a moment of radical potential — a transition from the human to the non-human; from the telluric to the celestial; from the bound to form to the unlimited.(from the press release)
opening Wednesday, September 24, 2025, 6–9 p.m.
until December 2025

Elisa Alberti
Risonanze
curated by Gianluca Ranzi
Elisa Alberti’s work has method. Method, as the etymology of the word suggests, means for the artist to pursue a quest that makes art a form of experience and translation of reality. What Elisa Alberti puts into practice is therefore a process of filtering and reducing phenomena, the complexity of nature, as well as the psychic and emotional life that belongs to it, according to a method that does not lead painting towards an aseptic and impersonal zero degree of form, but on the contrary creates a real symbolic, concrete, modular and, in its own way, even playful plane that includes everything and brings everything to life in a continuous game of echoes, references, dialogues, and relationships.
