From Hayez to Boldini in Brescia

Alessandro Milesi, Corteggiamento al mercato (1887 circa)
FROM HAYEZ TO BOLDINI. AN EXHIBITION IN BRESCIA THAT TELLS THE STORY OF THE ITALIAN NINETEENTH CENTURY
Seeing the works of all the major artists of the Italian nineteenth century gathered in one place is exciting.
Perhaps it is because this is my favourite period in art history at this stage in my life, or perhaps it is because seeing Hayez’s works again after the spectacular exhibition at the Gallerie d’Italia always gives me goosebumps, but the current exhibition in Brescia has enchanted me.
I am preparing a full post in which I will explain all the sections of the exhibition, but in the meantime, here is an overview of the works on display at Palazzo Martinengo, which you can also see in the video I posted on YouTube 🙂
But be warned, the February mini guide, which all subscribers receive free of charge every month, will be dedicated to this exhibition 🙂
I don’t know if you can tell, but I really loved this exhibition!

Federico Faruffini, Toletta antica (1856)

Guglielmo Ciardi, Verso Murano

About me
In this blog, I don't explain the history of art — I tell the stories that art itself tells.
