Belle Époque on display in Pisa: a Parisian dream inside Palazzo Blu

From October 15, 2025, to April 7, 2026, Palazzo Blu will host the Belle Époque exhibition, a spectacular dive into an era when Paris was the beating heart of elegance, modernity, and culture.

An exhibition to be seen with eyes full of wonder, curated by Prof. Francesca Dini, in collaboration with MondoMostre and with the support of the Pisa Foundation.

A journey through the most fascinating Paris ever (without leaving Italy)

The exhibition at Palazzo Blu in Pisa takes you to the heart of the French capital between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a period of creative ferment in which art, literature, music, science, and customs intertwined as never before. It is the Paris of artists, cabarets, and inventions. It is the Belle Époque.

The rooms of Palazzo Blu come alive thanks to masterpieces from international museums such as the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Uffizi Galleries, Palazzo Te, the Capodimonte Museum, and many private collections never seen before.

A unique opportunity that brings together extremely rare works in a choral narrative of the city that symbolizes modernity and style.

The protagonists of the exhibition are some of the great names in Italian art who made Paris their artistic and spiritual home. Visitors can admire the sophisticated and dynamic portraits of Giovanni Boldini, the works of Giuseppe De Nittis, chronicler of urban life amid train smoke and metropolitan fog, and the paintings of Vittorio Corcos, with his magnetic gazes and timeless elegance.

Alongside them are the impressionist atmospheres of Zandomeneghi, the refined cosmopolitanism of Mariano Fortuny, the glamorous details of Maison Goupil, and the international portraits of Sargent and Blanche.

These artists did not just live through the Belle Époque: they recounted it, painted it, and reinvented it.
