Giuseppe Panza di Biumo , who died in 2010, was one of the most important figures in contemporary art. The protagonist of the international collectors of the twentieth century created since the fifties one of the most interesting art collections with works by important artists of the postwar American painting . Panza was a true fan and could grasp in advance the talent of the artists with whom he entertained personal relationships. A surprising collection and that Italy has missed , when the Piedmont Region, in 1974 , it took the opportunity to buy 80 works from the collection at a discounted price ( offer made to keep the works in Italy!) And that will then be the MOCA in Los Angeles to win . Not to mention the other Italian cities that did not took advantage of the proposed donations and other works that took other directions. A Ca’Pesaro are exposed forty works of 27 artists from the Guggenheim in New York, MOCA in Los Angeles and from the private collection of the family of Biumo Panza . The show is a parade of the protagonists of Robert Rauschenberg , Roy Lichtenstein , Franz Kline , Donald Judd, Mark Rothko, Dan Flavin, Hanne Darboven , Jan Dibbets , Joseph Kosuth , Richard Serra , Walter De Maria and many more.
