Redentore. Magic Night in Venice

The Redentore is a feast – held on the day of the Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer – to give thanks for the end of the terrible plague of ‘500 in Venice.
The Feast of the Redeemer is the event that recalls the construction by order of the Venetian Senate of the Church of the Redeemer as a votive offering for the city’s deliverance from the plague of 1575-1577, which caused the death of more than a third of the population of the city in just two years.

Il Redentore è una festa – che si svolge il giorno della Festa del Santissimo Redentore – per rendere grazie della fine della terribile epidemia di peste del ‘500 a Venezia.
La Festa del Redentore è l’evento che ricorda la costruzione per ordine del Senato veneziano della Chiesa del Redentore quale ex voto per la liberazione della città dalla peste del 1575-1577, flagello che provocò la morte di più di un terzo della popolazione della città in soli due anni.
