Ilaria Margutti and Jole Serreli
TESSERE TRAME (WEAVING WEFTS)
An exhibition which has literally a common thread, that is to say a thread which marks a journey and a passage.
On October 15th 2016, the Zoia Gallery of contemporary art will inaugurate “Tessere trame” (“Weaving wefts”), an exhibition of works by Ilaria Margutti and Jole Serreli.
Behind the two artists there are voices of women of the past centuries, great grandmothers, distant relatives, and tradition which has been modernized and transformed into art, and which allow us to witness the meeting with the female heritage par excellence.
Distances reduce, and what Jole Serreli ties, and traps with stretched threads on the loom, Ilaria Margutti draws and sews, fixing it on canvas.
A song of two voices woven on canvas and narrated in a “weave”.
