EDOARDO TRESOLDI, THE ARTIST OF ABSENT MATTER
Edoardo Tresoldi is the artist of “Absent Matter” and wire-mesh cathedrals, inserted by Forbes among the most influential European artists under 30 in Europe in 2017.
After the reconstruction of the Early Christian Basilica in Siponto, that won the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture, the huge installation “Etherea“ in the USA for the “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival” and “Opera“, the installation on the seafront of Reggio Calabria, the artist exhibits in Ravenna “Sacral“, built in 2016 and set up for the exhibition dedicated to Dante “Un’ Epopea POP” organized by the MAR – Art Museum of the City of Ravenna.

Edoardo Tresoldi investigates the poetics of the dialogue between human beings and the landscape, by using the language of architecture as an expressive tool and as a key to reading space.
The artist plays with the transparency of wire mesh to describe the dialogue between Art and the World, reflect upon the meaning of inhabiting a space.
Born in Milan, after art school he moved to Rome where he worked in the fields of sculpture, stage design and the cinema, where he developed a heterogeneous approach to the arts.
Since 2013 he has produced installations in public spaces, archaeological sites, festivals and exhibitions all over the world.
In 2016 in collaboration with MiBACT, he produced a work for the archaeological site of the Early Christian Basilica of Siponto, a convergence between contemporary art and archaeology that was awarded the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture.
In 2018 he produced “Etherea“ for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in the USA. In 2019 he presented “Simbiosi“ in the prestigious context of Arte Sella and founded STUDIO STUDIO STUDIO, an interdisciplinary lab that supports artists, public art projects and contemporary art production.
In 2020 he inaugurated a permanent installation called “Opera“ in Reggio Calabria.
On the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to Dante arranged by the MAR – Art Museum of the City of Ravenna, Un’Epopea POP, the third exhibition of the project “Dante. Gli occhi e la mente”, from September 1st until the end of the exhibition, on January 9th 2022, “Sacral“ will be on display in the cloister of the museum.
