ROYAL PALACE OF NAPLES: HOW TO GET THERE

Reaching the Royal Palace of Naples is very easy. Just get to the city’s main square: Piazza del Plebiscito.
The museum is located right in this central place of the city!

WHAT TO SEE AT THE ROYAL PALACE OF NAPLES

When you enter the Royal Palace of Naples, you immediately realise the grandeur of the Bourbon dynasty.
Inside the palace, an imposing staircase welcomes visitors, while the historic flats and the throne room tell of the history and wealth of life that was led inside.
You will be left speechless at the sight of the marble, frescoes, furniture, paintings, chandeliers and all the symbols of the Bourbon power.

Royal Apartment

Inside the Palace you can admire the Royal Apartment, which is accessed via the grand staircase.
The Apartment consists of many rooms including the Court Theatre, the Throne Room, the Room of Mariacristina of Savoy and the Royal Chapel, which hold prestigious art masterpieces by the most famous painters of the Bourbon period.

Since 1923, the palace has also housed the National Library, which, with more than two million texts, is the most important library in southern Italy and one of the most important in the world.
The rooms of the current library originally housed court festivities.

Courtyards and gardens

The Royal Palace is also characterised by numerous outdoor spaces that can be visited: the Courtyard of Honour, the Carriage Courtyard, the Belvedere Courtyard and the Hanging Gardens, which offer a unique view of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius.
From the Courtyard of Honour you can also access the Royal Gardens, a park full of statues, avenues and ‘secret’ paths.

Also part of the Royal Palace complex is the San Carlo Theatre, one of the most famous theatres in the world, built by Antonio Medrano and inaugurated in 1737.
The theatre is directly connected to the palace by two reduced entrances and through the garden.
