AUGUSTE RODIN SCULPTOR: 5 THINGS TO KNOW

Auguste Rodin sculptor, one of the most famous French sculptors ever, is the artist who moulded the matter to transform it into passion and energy.
At the beginning his artistic career faced great difficulties, because his works were too modern for that time.

His passion for Michelangelo and Italian Renaissance art led him to create some sculptures which seemed to be unfinished, but which were extremely realistic.
Actually, Rodin used Michelangelo’s “unfinished” style in order to put in his works all the tension he could.

IMPRESSIONISM

At last, the exhibition dedicated to Impressionism and its stories has arrived in Treviso.
140 works will be on display at the Museum of Santa Caterina from October 29th 2016 to April 17th 2017.

It’s a large exhibition which will never bore you, because the works on show are great masterpieces.
The tour begins with an exhibition inside the exhibition. Three masterpieces painted by three artists who influenced the art of the late 19th century with their representation of female image: “Venere che sorge dal mare” (“Venus rising from the sea”) by Titian, “The Feast of Herod” by Rubens and “A woman in bed” by Rembrandt.

From here you’ll begin an incredible journey into the history of painting which, since the 19th century, had its point of reference in France, where artists all over the world arrived and drew their inspiration from Impressionism. Among them there were the Italian artists Giovanni Boldini o Federico Zandomeneghi, but also the American painter Edward Hopper.

FEDERICO ZANDOMENEGHI: IMPRESSIONISM OF ONE OF LES ITALIENS DE PARIS

From the railway station I headed for Palazzo Zabarella, and I had only the time to make some videos which I immediately published on Instagram stories, then I ended up in front of the entrance of the exhibition “L’Impressionismo di Zandomeneghi” (“Zandomeneghi’s Impressionism”).

THE IMPRESSIONISTS: THE DEBUT OF A GROUP OF ARTISTS WHO CHANGED ART HISTORY

Considered to be the founder of Impressionism, Claude Monet is the painter of light, and sometimes I like talking about him in my posts, like when I told you the 5 things to know about Monet, or sharing his works on Facebook.

Impression. Soleil levant. (Impression. Sunrise) is one of Monet’s masterpieces, which, however, didn’t go down in history because it’s beautiful (and it is!), but because it provoked the art critic Louis Leroy to coin the term “Impressionists” in order to define a group of painter who changed forever the course of history of visual arts.
