Last Supper, ticket sand booking are the key words for a cultural tour to the heart of Milan.

The Last Supper, the masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci left next to the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, is the leg of each journey to Milan, and booking is mandatory.
In this post I’ll explain how to get your ticket.

Due to the fragility of the work, the admission to the Last Suppe rhas been restricted to a  group of max 25 visitors every 15 minutes, in order to protect the painting from deterioration, and the work is always controlled to ensure that next generations can admire it, too.

THE BRERA ART GALLERY: THE WORKS YOU CAN’T MISS AND HOW TO PLAN YOUR VISIT

The Pinacoteca di Brera (Brera Art Gallery) is a great museum which unlike other great Italian art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery of Florence, didn’t originate from aristocratic collecting.
The works displayed at the Brera Art Gallery don’t come from collections belonging to a Prince or noble families, but is the collection of works used for the education of students attending the Academy of Fine Arts.
In the early 19th century, thanks to Napoleon Bonaparte, it turns into a museum.

MUSEO DEL NOVECENTO: THE MUSEUM OF THE 20TH CENTURY IN MILAN

The Museo del Novecento (the Museum of the 20th century) is located in Piazza Duomo in Milan inside the Palazzo dell’Arengario, built in the 1930s.
The Museum was inaugurated in 2010 and displays the Milanese collection of contemporary art, including some masterpieces of the 20th century.

The Museo del Novecento houses approximately 400 works displayed in chronological order, starting from the early twentieth century to the major exponents of Arte Povera, such as Luciano Fabro and Giuseppe Penone.
In the middle there’s all the art of the 20th century including the Italian masters of Futurism and Abstract Art, but also the international avant-gardes.

The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan. Autumn is a very intense time of year. Several exhibitions open, and this month the schedule of events is particularly rich. It’s not easy to decide what previews to attend and what exhibitions to visit without hurrying at a later time.

There’s an event, happened early this autumn, which I fondly remember, because you and I met in order to visit the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan.
